Mortgage Checklist

When purchasing or refinancing a home.  Make sure to have the following items handy to help make your transaction as smooth as possible.

Property information (if you are purchasing):

- Copy of the purchase agreement
- The MLS or legal description if available
- If your current home is listed – a copy of the listing agreement
- If you have recently sold your home – a copy of the HUD 1 sellers statement

Employment Information: (last 2 years)

- Name, address, and phone# of your employer(s)

INCOME and ASSETS:

- Last 2 years W-2’s
- Most 2 recent paystubs
- Most 2 recent statements showing asset values “ie” 401K, stocks, bonds,
retirement account, Roth IRA, mutual funds, savings, CD’s, etc.
-Most 2 recent bank statements
- Self Employed – last 2 years tax returns and YTD Profit and Loss statement prepared by an accountant
- If retired – a copy of your pension award
- If receiving social security – a copy of your award letter for the current year
- If child support is used – a copy of divorce decree and 12 months canceled checks
- Estimated value of home furnishings and personal property
